SCULPTURE WORKSHOP

 


 

 

If you have never done sculpture but you have curiosity about it…
If you’ve tried it before but you would like to improve your technique or investigate in other themes and different procedures…
If you have an sculpture project in mind and you don’t know how or where to carry it out, start with the module that suits you better.

Module 1: INITIATION TO MODELLING (3 months)


• We basically work with clay that will be fired alter.
• You will learn to make moulds and castings in plaster.
• You will start to distinguish the principles of sculpture.

• No need of previous knowledges.


Module 2: INITIATION TO SCULPTURE (3 months)


• Different techniques and materials will be investigated, learning to use them according to our expressive needs: clay modelling, plaster carving, direct plaster, paper.
• Plastic values will be Developer, as form, volume and texture.
• We start from the nature’s observation.

• No previous knowledges needed, although recommendable.

 

Module 3: HUMANE FIGURE IN SCULPTURE
(3 months)

• Sculptures in different materials and techniques will be done: ceramic sculpture, moulds, vaciado in plaster, cartapesta, iron structures making.
• We’ll study representation in volume and relief of masculine and feminine figure, sectioned and complete.

• It is necessary to have previous knowledges in human figure drawing, or sculpture.

 

Module 4: MIXED TECHNIQUES IN SCULPTURE
(no fixed duration)

• Diverse plastic materials will be explored, as: clay, plaster, paper, metal, fabric. wood, cement, glass, etc. We will insist in exploration of sculpture contemporary tendencies: mixed techniques, installations, process, concept, object art. Projects will be integrally conceived and executed by the student, under the professor supervision. Technical instruction is personalised according to each project needs.

Module 5: RECYCLING SCULPTURE
(no fixed duration)

• Starting from recycling elements we will put our imagination in function. All type of materials and techniques will be investigated, favouring interdisciplinary work by means of incorporation of painting and photography.

• No need to have previous knowledges.


Module 6: SCULPTURE IN PAPER
(no fixed duration)


• Cartapesta and papier maché techniques. They are fun and it's easy to obtain light sculptures with risky forms. You'll learn to model in clay, make the moulds later and then the casting in paper. It is one of the sculpture techniques where the use of colour is as important as the form. Sculpture in paper is of great utility in escenography, making of design objects and new jewellery.

Month prices

All sculpture courses include materials, use of ceramic furnace and tools.

Matriculation: 30 €

1 class of 2 ½ hs. per week: 80 €

2 classes of 2 ½ hs. each one, per week: 110 €

Special options

1 Drawing from Nature class per week + 1 Painting class per week (any of the courses) or 1 Sculpture class per week: 90 €
